A children’s clothing exchange is set for this weekend in Murrieta.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m., at Murrieta Mesa High School, 24801 Monroe Ave.

The goal is to “help local families clothe their children for free,” organizer Lori Reese wrote in an email.

The free event will accept children’s clothing, from newborn size to child’s extra large.

Participants are asked to bring their child’s old clothing to the event. It should be washed and organized by size and gender, in separate bags or boxes, and clearly labeled, Reese wrote. Parents can then browse and take home new clothing in their child’s current size.

The following will be accepted: clothing; accessories such as shoes, socks, bibs, bows, hats, diapers and wipes; blankets; books; and stuffed animals. The event will not accept strollers, pack-n-plays, high chairs or toys.

Anyone can attend, whether or not they have clothing to donate. All leftover items will be donated to a nonprofit organization. Parents are asked to leave children at home, but any who attend must be in a stroller, baby carrier or at their parents’ side.

Guests are asked to download and sign a waiver and bring a government-issued photo ID.
