A cow belonging to Ron Kletzel of Denzil became the first French Charalois cow in Canada to have a second set of twin heifer calves.

Si Campbell won the Unity Golf Club Handicap Championship. Moving on to compete for the Boyd Cup in North Battleford was the team of Campbell, Mo Miller, Jim Metcalfe, Ross Morrison and Ralph Seymour.

Local veterans Bill Fleming and Cec Hayward were to be receiving medals from the county of Holland, who were issuing commemorative medals for Canadian soldiers who served in Holland during the war.

Donated hay from Eastern Canada – due to drought in Western Canada – was unloaded from the Hay West train cars in Wilkie, for delivery to local farmers who’d won the hay lottery.
