The Feet Geeks is hosting its first-ever Sneaker Club expo at Tower City Center in Cleveland.

For Madison Williams, owner of The Feet Geeks, there’s nothing like a new pair of shoes.

“Ever since middle school, I always wanted to get the newest release out,” he said. “Then once I got older and realized I could make money doing it, then it took a whole other level for me.”

His store has hundreds of pairs in stock. Now, he’s inviting folks from across Ohio to bring their collections.

“You’re gonna see just about every type of crazy sneaker you can think of,” he said. “All the shoes that you’ve been looking at online and never see in stores. That’s what’s gonna be there.”

Williams said he expects about 25 vendors to participate and he’s expecting a crowd of around 600.

“Each vendor is at least bringing 100 shoes,” he said. “I have some vendors bringing 3-400 pairs.”

The event is a way for him to help give back.

“We did a little bit of research and they say that socks are often one of the necessities at the homeless shelter that they often don’t get,” he said.

He’s preparing to donate a bundle of socks for every sale or trade made at the event, with a goal to give away 500.

“It’s just something about sneakers,” he said. “When you got a fresh pair of sneakers and you walk in the room, it just gives you a certain confidence.”

It’s a passion he’s passing on to his 3-year-old son, and one he hopes others lace up for as well.

“It shows your personality,” he said. “So, when somebody sees your shoes, it’s kinda like you’re talking to them without talking.”

The Sneaker Club expo is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Oak Room at Tower City Center. Tickets are $10.
